Lucy takes up CEO role at One Health Group

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Lucy Nickson, former Chief Executive of Ashgate Hospicecare, who joined us in September.

Derek Bickerstaff, the current CEO, will remain on the One Health Board and assume the role of Director of Strategy and Innovation.

Lucy is bringing a wealth of experience to One Health having started her career in nursing before moving into a management career in the NHS. She was previously Head of Performance at the East Midlands Strategic Health Authority as well as Chief Executive at an end of life care charity in Derbyshire.

Lucy, who lives in Derbyshire, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have joined One Health. This is a fantastic opportunity to for me to utilise my healthcare background with my commercial experience.

“I really like the company’s values, and the patient journey and innovative pathways really appealed to me.

“I am very much looking forward to engaging with the team at One Health and working together to maximise all the opportunities that are available for the organisation. I will be aiming to grow the business and help to develop it into new markets.

One Health are approved by the NHS and accredited by the Care Quality Commission to provide treatment to NHS patients. Woking in partnership with the NHS since 2004, One Health is a team of specialist surgeons and healthcare managers, working to provide the best possible diagnosis and treatment for their patients.

Approximately 90 per cent of referrals to One Health clinics are made through Choose & Book (e-Referral) and services are wholly aligned with the NHS in terms of tariff and quality standards.

All clinics are consultant led and all consultants have held substantive NHS posts and have established clinical practices. Continuity of care is of paramount importance which means that patients see the same consultant from the first consultation to treatment, aftercare and discharge.
Ray Shannon, Chairman of the One Health Group, said: “We are very pleased that Lucy has joined us. She has a wealth of experience both in the NHS and independent sectors.

“We wish Lucy every success in her new role and continuing the important work of providing patients and their families with high quality services in collaboration with our valued partners.”
