Mr Wimalachandra is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS, Surgical Neurology - UK), appointed as a substantive consultant in 2022. He specialises in the management of complex spinal disorders, including traumatic injuries, degenerative disease and intradural spinal pathology.

His clinical practice includes minimally invasive spinal surgery, lumbar epidural injections, and the treatment of spinal vascular malformations. He combines evidence‑based practice with a measured, compassionate approach, aiming to deliver safe, effective outcomes tailored to each patient.

Alongside his clinical work, he remains actively involved in education and academic activity, with numerous journal publications and national and international presentations.
