UpgradeMr Abdulla Jawed is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hereford County Hospital, specialising in hip and knee surgery. His particular interests include hip and knee replacement surgery, revision hip arthroplasty, peri-prosthetic fractures, and the management of prosthetic joint infections.
Mr Jawed graduated from Manipal University, India, before completing surgical training in the North West of England and higher orthopaedic training across the Midlands and South West Peninsula. He holds the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) and an MCh in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the University of Edinburgh, where he was awarded the prestigious Harold Stiles Gold Medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for achieving the highest performance in his cohort.
He completed advanced fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, including computer-guided joint replacement surgery. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Jawed is actively involved in teaching, research, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary team working, with numerous publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, reading, travelling, and supporting humanitarian medical missions overseas.
