Mr Bagga is a Consultant Adult and Paediatric Neurosurgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust & Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Trust. He has a specialist interest in adult and paediatric brain and spinal cord tumours, in addition to degenerative spinal disease.

Mr Bagga obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Neuroscience from Cardiff University and subsequently gained a PhD for his exceptional research into the neuro-transplantation of stem cells for treatment of neurodegenerative disease.  He graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical school and completed his surgical training in the West Midlands and Edinburgh before entering and completing specialist Neurosurgical training in the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery.

After completing his Neurosurgical training, he undertook further specialised training and completed a Royal College of Surgeons  (RCS) approved Fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at Southmead Hospital, Bristol and the highly prestigious Paediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship in Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool. He is currently the Neuro-Oncology lead for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Chair for the CNS Cancer Alliance Group for South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.

He is committed to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and is Honorary Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS foundation trust. He continues to maintain an interest in clinical research and has published widely.
