UpgradeAfter graduating from India, I pursued my surgical training in the UK starting as a clinical demonstrator for Imperial College, London students. I have subsequently trained at Hull, Huddersfield, Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley. I have completed the Royal College recognised Bariatric Fellowship at Sunderland Royal Hospital. I have subsequently been appointed as a Consultant General, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital since Oct 2019. My main clinical interests are minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for gallstones, hernias, anti-reflux surgery, weight loss and metabolic surgery. I have a strong academic background with a MD awarded for one of the first randomised trials comparing laser versus conventional surgery for small saphenous varicose veins. I have extensively published in peer reviewed scientific journals, including a book chapter. I have extensively presented at national and international forums including winning multiple awards and travel bursaries. I share a passion to teach and train the next generation of doctors. I am a training faculty at multiple courses & workshops. I am an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Sheffield and the undergraduate GI lead at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
