From 1st April this year, NHS patients can now have their treatment at BMI The Huddersfield Hospital for General Surgery and – in addition to the existing Spinal service – access tests and surgical treatments for a range of gastrointestinal conditions at this location.
The new General Surgery Service – led by dedicated and experienced Consultant General Surgeons Robin Gupta, Shina Fawole and Chris Macklin – creates additional theatre capacity and supports our efficient Choose and Book system (ERS), which empowers people to easily choose the date and time of their One Health appointments.
Consultant Surgeon Robin Gupta, who has been part of One Health for almost 10 years, said “this growth is another important step in our mission to offer everyone, across all communities, high-quality and effective healthcare, including shorter waiting times, more efficient treatment and continuity of care.
NHS patients can easily request a referral to us through their GP and at no additional cost, and we’re delighted that this new capacity in Huddersfield is going to empower even more people in the community to take control of their care and get back to a healthy life.”
